Writer, raconteur, reprobate, with decades in electronic journalism but some honest work to his credit as well, at the tender age of 63, Peter Freundlich finds himself abducted and carted off by a disease.

“Esoph’s Fables” is where he posts his letters home from an outlying province in Cancerland.

  1. Peter — Yikes! Good luck. And thank you for keeping all informed (and amused, oddly) this way.

  2. Oh lord Peter, please don’t turn into Mick Jagger…oh no……keep eating baby!

  3. This is probably the best blog I’ve read. It’s funny and entertaining while dealing with a very serious and real issue.

  4. Let’s hope your visa (not you) expires soon and you are deported back to the US.

  5. Your posts sting my nasal cavities. Say hello to my Mom while you’re in Cancerland, and don’t stay too long. Chemo #4 tomorrow and Mama ain’t happy (so of course, NO ONE is happy).

I keep thinking about that game we played as kids: Candyland. If Cancerland were a board game, what would be on it? So far, one of Mom’s highlights has been a trip to the wig store. Whoopee!

  6. I have ALS, not cancer, but I appreciate good writing and gallows humor as much as the next “sicko.” Thanks for sharing.
